Erika Campbell (she/her)
PhD Global Health IV
I am passionate about sexual consent education and am thankful to be a part of this community at McMaster. I believe in making educational institutions safer, anti-oppressive spaces. To contribute to this type of change at McMaster, I look forward to having conversations about the importance sexual consent and violence prevention with my peers. It is truly a pleasure to be a peer educator.
Favourite self-care activity: I read, ride my bike, ski, or spend time with family and friends to take care of myself.

Hi, I’m Grace! This is my first year as a peer educator with SVPRO and I’m super excited to be a part of this team to help create a culture of consent at McMaster. I joined this team because I am passionate about ending sexual violence and I would love to help be a part of the solution. Looking forward to a great year!

I am passionate about building the conversation around sexual violence. I hope to help safely educate folks and myself to be better equipped to help prevent sexual violence, and empower survivors.

I’ve become a part of this team because I am passionate about advocating against sexual violence. My goal is to raise awareness and educate my peers about common misconceptions, with the aim of fostering a safer and more inclusive environment at McMaster for all. I am also excited about my own personal growth and the opportunity to support others on their journey

Yash Joshi (he/him)
Integrated Science (Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour) IV
My name is Yash and I am a big sports fan as I grew up playing soccer and I love watching basketball, baseball, and football. In my free time I love to go for hikes and explore new places such as restaurants and cafes. I am very interested in mental health topics, addictions, and behaviour in general and hope to pursue a career in these areas someday.
Favourite self-care activity: watching old sitcoms like Seinfeld, The Office, or How I Met Your Mother to get a few laughs.

Senaya Karunarathne (she/her)
Hons BSc Life Sciences III
I have a passion for helping foster a safe and inclusive campus and firmly believe that sexual and gender-based violence awareness, education and advocacy are one of several ways to accomplish this. I hope to facilitate further discussion on these topics and simultaneously become more informed on SGBV experiences. The SVPRO is already doing incredible work for the McMaster community, and I cannot wait to contribute to these efforts!

I joined this team as I wanted to have a concrete impact within the McMaster community. I am very passionate about gender-based violence awareness and prevention as well as ending the myths surrounding it. I hope that through this role, I will be able to learn more about gender-based violence from my fellow peer educators as well as educate the broader community to help create a safer environment on campus!

Having previously been introduced to SVPRO through other commitments, I am honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to the meaningful work this team does. I am passionate about making our campus a safe(r) space for all by building a culture of consent here at McMaster. I hope to provide my peers with open, welcoming spaces where they learn more about how they can do their part to prevent sexual and gender-based violence.

My name is Jinisha and I am an undergraduate student here at McMaster. I am passionate about creating safe(r) spaces through education and open conversation. In this role, I look forward to learning more about sexual violence prevention and sharing tools that can help foster a positive campus environment.

I am passionate about the prevention and education of sexual and gender-based violence. I hope to initiate conversations about the stigma associated with sexual violence and consent, as well as work to build a safer and more inclusive campus for all McMaster students. Sexual violence is a topic that can be difficult to address, but I hope to facilitate meaningful discussions and foster an environment in which everyone feels they have a voice.

I am a firm believer that change and awareness flourish when we open important discussions that raise awareness and push back on the oppressive power structures implemented in our society. I was motivated to join this team and to involve myself in sexual violence prevention work because I want to continue the ongoing journey of unlearning by opening important discussions surrounding consent and sexual violence prevention. I am utterly excited to partake in the journey of unlearning and to work with similar-minded folks.

I was motivated to join this team to help facilitate awareness and discussion of sexual violence in our community, along with building a safe space for survivors. Sexual violence is a topic that can be hard to approach, and I’m passionate about both learning and helping others build the right toolkits to address such issues. By educating and listening to peers, I hope to help create a culture of consent on campus that everyone can feel a part of, and am excited to be working with this great team!
